Julian C. Campbell, with the assistance of his father Ralph C. Campbell, founded the business in 1958 in the county seat community of Bloomfield, Iowa. With diversified interests in abstracting, insurance, and real estate sales, Julian Campbell, Realtors® provided the citizens of Bloomfield with expertise and brought a higher degree of professionalism to the community by being the first Realtor in the community.
From Father to Son
In 1977, Julian's son Steven joined the firm as a sales associate and quickly graduated to Broker status. In 1980, the company expanded to a satellite office in Ottumwa, the economic hub of the region. In 1986, Steven transferred to the branch office in Ottumwa and assumed broker-in-charge responsibilities. He then purchased the entire business from his father in 1991.
A Bold Move
Four years later, Steven expanded the business by developing land at Cambridge Court, a preferred 32 lot, residential district in Ottumwa. His custom, single family home construction added more than $5 million to the local tax base, and established him as a premiere real estate professional in the local market.
